Planning Permission

Basic Planning Rules

Planning permission is rarely needed for a Garenberg garden building.

Our offices have been carefully designed to fall within the temporary building planning guidelines even though they look, feel and perform like a permanent structure.

Planning permission is unlikely to be required as long as:

- The garden office building is to be sited at least 5m (16 1/2 ft)
- from the house and further than 0.3m (1ft) from the
- boundary (however access to all sides for inspection and
- rubbish removal is advisable)
- The office is not between the home and the highway unless
- the highway is further than 20m away
- Only a small number of visitors are expected
- Your house is not a listed building
- Your house is not in a conservation area, a national park,
an area of outstanding natural beauty, or the Broads
